MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice

Counsellors holding a CCS Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Psychodynamic) or in Psychodynamic Counselling, awarded within the previous 6 years, may apply to Bath Spa University (BSU) for registration to their MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice. An APL award of 60 credits will be made on acceptance to the progrmame, leaving a further 120 credits to be gained, normally over 2 years of study

Delivered under the BSU Continuing Professional Development programme, the MA is a work-based, distance learning programme. Students may use their practice and prior training as material on which to base various stages of the programme.

In addition to the tutorials and other support provided by BSU, CCS provides an MA student support programme for counsellors working in CCS en route to the award.

Postgraduate Diploma

The programme also provides for those interested in studying for a Postgraduate Diploma for which 60 credits must be added to the APL award of 60 for the Diploma. This typically can be acheived over one year.
