Introduction to our Short Courses & Continual Professional Development training.

business man BE uid 1342844Our short courses (jump to the course list) are intended as professional enhancement/Continual Professional Development  for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. Combining theory,  discussion and exercises, they are all practice oriented and developed by qualified and highly experienced members of our training team.

Unless stated otherwise, the entry requirement for the following courses is a counselling diploma plus one year (minimum) of post-qualification experience.

Awards.

  • A certificate is awarded for adequate attendance and course work.
  • A diploma by presenting a specified number of hours of supervised casework.

Background.

  • Student group sizes are normally 8 – 12
  • These courses are led by two trainers at least.

 1) Certificate in Psychodynamic Skills and Theory

On Thursdays 3.45-8.45pm, 2 terms, ending early July. Can be taken as a stand-alone qualification or provides access to BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in September (further 2 years).

 2) Couples Counselling (Certificate or Diploma)

15 monthly, weekend workshops; 09.30-5.00 on Saturday and Sunday. Practice placement may be available in CCS.

 3) 1001 Interventions - Couples Counselling Workshop

An interactive workshop regarding what to think about when preparing a systemic/psychodynamic intervention for a couple in counselling.

 4) Certificate in Time Limited Counselling

6 weekly workshops of 4 hours each. Wednesday mornings 9.30 - 1.30; 20 October - 24 November.

 5) Counselling Children and Young People (Certificate or Diploma)

6 day workshops, Monday - Saturday, 10.00 - 4.00, plus 2, one day workshops, one week later, on Play Therapy and Sand Tray Work.
